We use Google.  Google connects us to knowledge and information for free, knowledge and information. Google has both social and commercial properties.We use social media - Web 2.0 content - for work and play.

I watched an interesting programme the other day about these issues that was based on telling the story about Google Books. I don't know if you caught it.

Ideals and ideas have changed the way we communicate and archive, but there are issues around safety. the safety of information, the right of authors, the protection of children. All sophisticated ideas that are a part of the incredible freedom and privileges we have to believe and think with these resources.

Other free online resources exist - but how we allowed to use these resources might need to be a part of our new mindset and skillset?

It is about how to do well in a Skype interview so have a look because you might be doing one in the near future for work...

I also had a 'tutorial' session with Ahmet today, and he had prepared questions for me to help with during our time together. Ahmet actually books my time at regular intervals so that he has continuity and I also benefit from that as I have continuity. I also chatted to my colleague Ruth - who does professional practice for what is now the School of Health and Education at Middlesex - and she was also talking about preparing for tutorials with questions as a way of making the most out of the session.

So next time you contact me folks - prepare a list of 'things to do' and questions to work from.
