Back from Easter - Reminder about last Campus Session

Right - back now. Nothing as exciting as Berlin... but I just went to a mini-conference at the Hendon Campus (Alan also attended a few events even though he is on holiday). The conference had to do with work-based learning and was useful becaseu it discussed work-based larning and professional practice awards with examples form other universities such as Derby and University of West England.

I am looking at research proposals people have sent in - if you have not sent a draft in yet - NOW is the time to send an email to discuss your progress. I am doing that with several people now. Refer to the Guidelines for what you need to pass in AND you should have some learning blogs up for alllto see. I am looking forward to seeing them myself - sorry I have had my head in the research books and the occasional chocolate easter egg. I went to see Darwin's 'pod' over the holiday and learned about how actors are sent audition scripts - over email for overnight consumption!

IN BRIEF this is what you should have ready by the 6th May.

Portfolio Part 1
Learning Diary (Blog entries 5 x 200 words)  1000 words (also can be audio-visual format
Critical Commentary on learning in this module (Blog) 500 words
Portfolio Part 2
Research and Development Materials (Activities 1, 2 and 7) 1500 words
Portfolio Part 3
Project Proposal 2500 words
Ethical Issues relating to Project Proposal 500 words
Ethics Release Form-Form to fill in
Portfolio Part 4
Rationale for your Award Title-500 words
Learning Agreement Cover Sheet-Form to fill in

I will also try  to get something up about qualitative analysis on my blog.

Reminder about the last Campus session - we will be going over the Learning Agreement, the rationale for the learning diary entries and the whole portfolio/proposal that you will be assessed on (see above).

  6. Lantern send your drafts to Peter and he will review - if you are their on Tuesday we can meet or email me if we miss each other. Boolean is just adding AND to words (not in Google) to make searches easier - the MDX library has some good info on this. Paula

  7. Thanks for this usefull blog paula, just checking does the portfolio need to be set out like this or can the learning diary and activities 1,2 and 7 be appendix's in the proposal? x

  8. We have now discussed this - set out as 1,2,3,4 OR submit as a main proposal document with other research portfolio elements added to appendices - wither way all the components will be there
