I am attending this The Cultural Capital Exchange event on Monday the 12th March about creativity in business.
The website for the meeting also refers to a Guardian blog about creative businesses that speaks further to some of the issues.
I will report back about what might be useful to the BAPP network.

ReplyDeleteThis could potentially open so many doors for us creative people, wanting to work within a commercial business environment, as opposed to our usual surroundings of theatre and /or schools.
I have had the pleasure of working in both, but within the commercial business environment, other people struggled with my pro-active approach and creative delivery which was a completely different angle to that of spreadsheets and data analysis!

Thanks Jo very interesting day on many counts. There were lots of delegates from the private and third sectors as well as public. I met Annabel who photographed dance - she started as a picture reseracher, and Gloria who trained in performance but now did PR. The Head of Central School of Speech and Drama was on a panel and told a funny story about when they brought in casting agents - trying to find out what both sides wanted from actors - but found that there was no consensus of opinion among the agents - actually the opposite of consensus!
